What is Focus on the Family’s The Truth Project®?

In a recent study, the Barna Research Group revealed a stunning statistic that continues to reverberate throughout the evangelical world. Only 9 percent of professing Christians have a biblical worldview.1

Because of this, today’s believers live very similarly to non-believers. A personal sense of significance is rarely experienced, we spend our money and time on things that fail to satisfy and we begin to wonder what life’s ultimate purpose really is. We are, in short, losing our bearings as a people and a nation.

To counter this slide within the body of Christ, Focus on the Family has launched one of the most ambitious and powerful projects in the history of our ministry – The Truth Project.

The Truth Project is a DVD-based small group curriculum comprised of 13 one-hour lessons taught by Dr. Del Tackett. This home study is the starting point for looking at life from a biblical perspective. Each lesson discusses in great detail the relevance and importance of living the Christian worldview in daily life.

We believe this one project represents the possibility for exponential change within the body of Christ; millions been transformed by this curriculum. As it has been throughout history, God continues to call ordinary people to make an eternal difference in our world.

TrueU

TrueU is a valuable resource for youth groups, college campus clubs, Sunday School classes, home-based small groups, homeschools, and individuals who want to strengthen their faith. The series consists of three sets of videos for all those  who want to strengthen their faith.  TrueU is a precursor to the in-depth study presented in Focus on the Family’s The Truth Project® of how to live out a Christian worldview.  Those who are interested in TrueU may also enjoy joining a The Truth Project small group.

Does God Exist?
In this first DVD set of the TrueU series, Dr. Stephen Meyer plays a “philosophical survival game,” pitting four worldviews against one another in the quest to decide which one gives the best answers.  Dr. Meyer examines the evidence and provides the tools needed for students to defend their faith and make it their own.  This is the perfect resource for students preparing to enter college and a culture that may be hostile to their faith.

Is the Bible Reliable?:  Building the Historical Case
Who is God, and how can we know Him? The Bible claims to be the direct revelation of our Creator.  So if the biblical record is true, it is a primary means by which the God of the universe has revealed Himself to mankind.  However, if it can be proved false, then the God of whom it speaks is simply one more pretender in the assembly of gods that man has created.
In Is the Bible Reliable?  Dr. Stephen Meyer challenges you to examine the historical and archaeological evidence to determine for yourself the veracity and accuracy of biblical Scripture. Is the Bible true? You decide.

Who Is Jesus?
Who Is Jesus, Really??number three in the TrueU video series?is a ten-lesson DVD for teens and college students focusing on the evidence for Jesus himself.  Hosted and taught by Del Tackett, from Focus on the Family’s The Truth Project, this product can be used as a small group or individual study to give students the confidence to speak about their faith, and to defend the existence and identity of Christ.  It features strong historical evidence by demonstrating the validity of the key figures involved in Jesus’ trial and crucifixion, and a compelling argument for His divinity.  The lessons delve into topics like Jesus birth, life, death, and resurrection; and questions like, Is Jesus the only way to God?  This volume also features other key experts like Lee Strobel, Michael Farris, Gary Habermas, Louis Lapides, and Greg Koukl.  It’s sure to provide students with Biblical facts and evidence that corroborate Jesus’ life and divinity, and equip them to stand strong in their faith when the tough questions come at them.
